Web Design Of A Landing Page

A landing page is the first web page the visitors of a website will see as a result of following a promotion you have created for your company / product. Landing pages are created with the intention of making the end user perform a specific action. i.e. You may want the end user to purchase a product, fill out a form, or provide personal details, read some text to learn about a product or service. The action end users take is called called conversion. And it is the end goal of every campaign.

Web design of the landing page is directly correlated with the success of your campaign. A well executed landing page design could easily help you recover your cost for the campaign and  generate make more money for your investment.

As in the case of any marketing strategy putting yourself in the place of end user will help tremendously. Essentially visitors shouldn't feel tricked when they and should be able to find what they are looking for easily.

Some well known techniques that are used during the preparation of a successful web page design are as follows:

  • Making sure to place buttons / forms that lead to conversion, call for action,  at the appropriate location of a web page.
  • Avoiding unnecessary texts, links, images .
  • Making sure the text is well written and match to the context of the promotion and placed at a proper location of the page.
  • Making sure the images that are selected are appropriate to the context of the promotion and are placed at a proper location on the page.
  • Establishing trustworthiness
